Five Easy Steps to Buying Your Gold Coast Home
Now that you have decided which Community you would like to live in, you own or have picked out the perfect home site, you know what floor plan you would like along with any customization details, if any, you have a budget and have your financing lined up, here’s what to expect next:
Step 1: Finalize Your Decisions
It is now time to go to contract and in order to do that you have to finalize some up front decisions on your new home such as exterior elevation options, floor plan customization, square footages and any initial upgrades. This will ensure that the specifications you choose to select will be included in your agreement. Once this is complete a detailed agreement will be drawn up for the purchase of your new home.
Step 2: Signing Your Agreement
Signing and entering into a Purchase Agreement is a very important milestone in building your new home. Once complete, preliminary construction documents including plan design will start to be generated and a timeline is set for both the builder and buyer responsibilities. This is a big step, so make sure you read and understand your agreement fully. If you have questions, don’t hesitate to ask, as we are here to make sure you comfortable with the process.
Step 3: Financing Application
For this step, if you are financing your purchase, you will need complete your financing application with your preferred lender within 3 business days of signing agreement.
Step 4: Design Center Selections Appointment
Once you receive preliminary approval from your lender, you will make an appointment for an Exterior Selections Design consultation. Here you will finalize the exterior colors and selections such as: body and trim paint, garage door style and color, front door, roof and paver colors. This will also be the opportunity to go through interior design options and selections so you can start doing your homework on selecting those items.
Step 5: Finalize Your Financing
To kick off the preliminary construction process including Architectural Review and Permitting item preparations, you will need to finalize and set a closing date on your financing. Once, complete, we can now establish a preliminary construction schedule for your new home. This would be the time to consider if you are choosing any upgrades and if you would like to add the upgrade cost to the financing of your new home.
